What is Historical Arminianism?

On the Society of Evangelical Arminians blog, there is an excellent article entitled "Critique on the Articles of Remonstrance," which gives the text and a personal commentary on the "Articles of Remonstrance," the document written about 1610 by those who held to the teachings of Jacob Arminius, and in reaction to which the famous "Five Points" of Calvinism were written. The Critique is excellent, and shows the biblical and non-combative nature of the Articles.
