Moreover, as I'll flesh out in an upcoming post, we need to consider that what we do now in this present creation matters in an eternal sense (and I believe that goes beyond merely winnin' souls fer Jesus).

So therefore, the one thing we do not want to be doing is simply huddle together waiting for the Rapture to take us away, and not worrying about what we do to this world in the meantime, assuming that it is simply going to be done away with.

I'm not seeing this as being argumentative at all.

God bless you and yours, too!Keith Schooleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04078256877683382439noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18950992.post-90235796790891228832010-04-30T20:51:56.503-04:002010-04-30T20:51:56.503-04:00from Dave Porter
Hi Keith,
Great stuff here, as e...from Dave Porter

Hi Keith,
Great stuff here, as expected.

If one accepts the mantle as an Agent of Transformation, how then does one live? Allowing the Holy Spirit to work through us to redeem others; certainly. Doing eco-friendly stuff so as not to despoil God's creation, respecting the fact that we should care for the earth that He will one day transform; sure. Chanting "maranatha" while dumping toxic waste, so as to hasten the day of Transformation; probably not so much.

That's the easy stuff. The devil, as the saying goes, is in the details. If two sincere believers, both fully believing that they are operating in God's will and working as Agents of Transformation are working at cross purposes, what is one to think? If each one thinks the other misguided at best or a heretic at worst, are they both right, both wrong, or something else entirely. If we're to simply trust and obey God, doing as we believe He leads us, how do we respond to those who believe that they have a mandate to enlighten us otherwise?

Please understand, I'm not trying to be argumentative. I really like the work you've done here, and hope you continue to write.

God bless you and your family,
DaveAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18950992.post-48733339977206512912010-04-29T00:32:33.401-04:002010-04-29T00:32:33.401-04:00Very informative series. Thanks for your work here.

"if we know we're going to be resurrected, we need to begin living as though we were resurrected; and if we know that this present creation is going to be redeemed, then we need to live in it as though we were an agent of that transformation."

Amen!

A verse that I find encouraging (especially as I age) is Romans 8:11. Not only do we as believers have the promise of a glorified body, but presently our mortal bodies have life through the Holy Spirit, who lives in us.

"And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you."Kevin Jacksonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13472900037134045450noreply@blogger.com
